| Birmingham City Council Backs Minimum Wage Increase |
The Birmingham City Council plans to raise the minimum wage over two years with the first increase effective July 1, 2016 to $8.50 an hour. This $2.75 increase will help lift working families out of poverty and boost the local economy by giving people more purchasing power.
