I generally develop in Ubuntu now, but since many use Windows I'll stick with it. Here is what you need to get started: NodeJS: http://nodejs.org/download/ Install Coffee Script: npm install -g coffee-script Watch a Single File: coffee --watch --compile your-file.coffee I would strongly recommend using Nodejs: NPM GulpJS, however it may take a bit of setup to get going to automate this (GulpJS can automate more than coffee, like SASS, LESS, minifying, etc).
